Fight Between Immune System and Corona Virus

*உடலின் எதிர்ப்பு சக்தியை ஏமாற்றி வெல்லும் கொரோனா வைரஸ்-செல்களுக்குள் நடக்கும் உயிர் போராட்டம்!*

கடந்த டிசம்பர் 2019ல் தனது நாட்டின் ஊஹான் நகரில் கொரோனா வைரஸ் என்ற புதிய வகை வைரஸ் தாக்கி வருவதாக சீனா வெளியுலகுக்கு முதன் முதலாக தெரிவித்தது.

இந்த வைரஸ் Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-2) என்ற வகையை சேர்ந்தது. இந்த வைரஸ் உருவாக்கும் நோய்க்குப் பெயர் தான் கோவிட் -19

*வைரஸ் என்றால்?...*
முழுமையான உயிர் பெறாத ஒரு அரைகுறை உயிரி தான் வைரஸ். ஒரு ஆர்என்ஏ(நமது செல்களில் ஜீன் எனப்படும் டிஎன்ஏ இருப்பது மாதிரி வைரஸ்களில் இருப்பது டிஎன்ஏவின் அரைகுறை வடிவமான RNA) அதைச் சுற்றி ஒரு புரதம் (Protein) மற்றும் கொழுப்பு சேர்ந்த ஒரு உறை (ஆல்கஹால் கொண்ட சானிடைசர்கள், சோப்பு நுரை பட்டால் இந்த உறை கறைந்து வைரஸ் அவுட்). அந்த உறையின் மீது ஆங்காங்கே முட்கள். இது தான் கொரோனா வைரஸ். இந்த முட்களின் வேலை எளிதாக எதிலும் ஒட்டிக் கொள்ளவதே. இந்த முட்களும் புரதத்தால் ஆனவையே. கொரோனா வைரசில் இந்த முட்கள் பார்ப்பதற்கு கிரீடத்தில் (Crown) இருக்கும் வேலைப்பாடு போல இருப்பதால் இந்த வைரசுக்கு கொரோனா வைரஸ் எனப் பெயர்.

இதை ஏன் அரைகுறை உயிரி என்கிறோம். இந்த வைரஸ்களால் தானாக வாழ முடியாது. இது ஒரு முழுமையான ஒட்டுண்ணி. ஏதோ ஒரு உயிரினத்தின் செல்லுக்குள் புகுந்து அந்த செல்லில் இருக்கும் திட, திரவப் பொருட்களையே உணவாக்கிக் கொண்டு பல்கிப் பெருகுவது தான் வைரஸ்களின் வேலை. செல்லுக்கு வெளியே சில மணி நேரமோ அல்லது சில நாட்களோ தான் இதனால் தாக்குப் பிடிக்க முடியும்.

இந்த வைரஸ் மூக்கு, வாய் அல்லது கண் வழியாக உள்ளே நுழைந்தவுடன் முதலில் தொண்டப் பகுதியை தாக்குகிறது. தொண்டையில் உள்ள திசுக்களின் செல்களில் இது பல்கிப் பெருகியவுடன் தான் தொண்டை வலியும் இருமலும் தொடங்குகிறது. இந்த வைரஸ்களை எதிர்த்து நம் உடலின் எதிர்ப்பு சக்தி (Immune system) மோதலை தொடங்குகிறது. அந்த மோதலின் அறிகுறி தான் காய்ச்சல். பெரும்பாலான வைரஸ்கள் அதிக வெப்ப நிலையை தாங்க முடியாதவை என்பதால், உடலின் வெப்ப நிலையை உயர்த்தி வைரஸ்களை காலி செய்ய நமது உடலின் எதிர்ப்பு சக்தி முயற்சிக்கிறது.

இந்த மோதலின்போதே பெரும்பாலான வைரஸ்களை நமது உடல் கொன்று விடுகிறது, கொரோனா வைரஸ் உள்பட. நமது உடலின் Immune system ஒரு மாபெரும் பாதுகாப்பு அரண். வைரஸோ, பாக்டீரியாவோ அல்லது வேறு ஒரு நுண்ணுயிரோ உடலுக்குள் புகுந்தவுடன் அவற்றை நமது உடல் இரு வகையான காரணிகளை வைத்து அடையாளம் கண்டுபிடிக்கிறது.

முதலாவது அந்த நுண்ணியிர் வெளியிடும் வேதியியல் பொருட்கள், இரண்டாவது அந்த நுண்ணியிரின் உருவம்.

இது வெளியில் இருந்து வந்த பொருள் என்பதை கண்டுபிடித்த உடனே நமது ரத்தத்தின் வெள்ளை அணுக்கள் அவற்றை கொல்லும் வேலையில் இறங்குகின்றன. வைரஸ், பாக்டீரியாவை அப்படியே விழுங்கி ஏப்பம் விடும் வேலைக்கு Macrophages, Neutrophils போன்ற அடியாட்களை வெள்ளை அணுக்கள் அனுப்புகின்றன.

ஆனால், இதையும் தாண்டி வைரஸோ பாக்டீரியாவோ உடலை பதம் பார்க்க ஆரம்பித்தால், அடுத்த கட்ட அரண்கள் வேலையில் இறங்கும். அதில் ஒன்று Innate lymphoid cells. இதன் ஒரு பிரிவான T- Killer cellகளின் வேலை வைரஸ்களால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட உடல் செல்களை கொன்று, வெளியேற்றி உடல் திசுக்கள் மேலும் மோசமடையாமல் தடுப்பது. மேலும் வைரஸ்களுக்கு உணவாகிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் செல்களின் எண்ணிக்கையை குறைப்பது. இது தான் இதன் வேலை.

அதே நேரத்தில் Macrophages, Neutrophils போன்றவற்றால் தடுக்க முடியாத வைரஸ்களை ஒழித்துக் கட்ட நமது உடல் அனுப்பும் பிரம்மாஸ்திரம் தான் B cells எனப்படும் வைரஸ்களை தாக்கும் செல்கள். இந்த செல்கள் வைரஸ்களின் உருவத்தை அடையாளம் கண்டு, அதன் மீது ஒட்டிக் கொண்டு, அப்படியே இழுத்துச் சென்று Lumph nodes எனப்படும் நிணநீர் சுரப்பிகளில் வைத்து, அங்கு சுரக்கும் ரசாயனங்கள் உதவியோடு வைரஸ்களை கொல்லும்.

இந்த உடல் எதிர்ப்பு சக்தி ஒரு பக்கம் இருக்க...
தொண்டைப்பகுதியை அடைந்த கொரோனா வைரஸ்கள் அடுத்ததாக நமது உடலை பாதிப்பது நுரையீரலை. நுரையீரலின் உள் சுவற்றில் இருப்பவை மிக லேசான பில்லியன் கணக்கான எபிதீலியல் செல்கள். இந்த செல்களில் கொரோனா வைரஸ் ஒட்டிக் கொண்டு, துளை போட்டு தனது ஆர்என்ஏவை உள்ளே நுழைக்கும். இந்த ஆர்என்ஏ செல்லுக்குள் போய் லட்சக்கணக்கில் தனது பிரதிகளை ஜெராக்ஸ் மெசின் மாதிரி காப்பி எடுக்கும். இன்த ஒவ்வொரு ஆர்என்ஏவும் ஒரு வைரசாக மாறும்.

அந்த செல் முழுக்கவே வைரஸ்களால் நிறையும்போது, அந்த செல்லே வெடித்து மடியும். அந்த வெடிப்பில் இருந்து கிளம்பும் லட்சக்கணக்கான வைரஸ்கள் அடுத்தடுத்த செல்களை இதே போல தாக்கி அழித்து, பல்கிப் பெருகும். 10 நாட்களில் நுரையீரலின் பெரும்பாலான செல்களை இந்த வைரஸ் ஆக்கிரமிக்கும்.

இதுவரையும் கூட பிரச்சனை அதிகமில்லை. ஆனால், இந்த வைரஸ்களை அழிக்க நமது உடலின் Immune cells எனப்படும் எதிர் தாக்குதல் செல்கள் நுரையீரலில் நுழைந்து தாக்க ஆரம்பிக்கும்போது தான் பிரச்சனையே துவங்குகிறது.

மற்ற வைரஸ்களில் இருந்து கொரோனா இங்கே தான் மாறுபடுகிறது. இந்த கொரோனா வைரஸ், நமது உடலின் எதிர் தாக்குதல் செல்களுக்குள்ளேயே நுழைந்து அதையும் சேதப்படுகின்றன. சேதப்படுத்துவதோடு மட்டுமல்ல, அந்த செல்களின் ஜீன்களில் குழப்பத்தையும் ஏற்படுத்துகின்றன.

*அது என்ன வகையான குழப்பம்...*
நமது Immune system செல்கள் ஒன்றோடு ஒன்று தகவல் பரிமாறிக் கொள்வது சைட்டோகைன்ஸ் (Cytokines) எனப்படும் ஒரு வேதிப் பொருள் மூலம் தான். ஜீன்கள் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட எதிர் தாக்குதல் செல்கள் குழப்பமான சைட்டோகைன் தகவல்கள் அனுப்ப, நுரையீரலை பாதுகாக்க கிளம்பி வரும் Neutrophils செல்கள், கொரோனா வைரஸ்களுக்கு பதலாக உடலின் எதிர்ப்பு சக்தி செல்களை தாக்க ஆரம்பிக்கும்.

அதே போல பாதிக்கப்பட்ட நுரையீரல் செல்களை தற்கொலை செய்ய வைத்து நோய் மேலும் பரவாமல் தடுக்க வேண்டிய வேலைக்காக வரும் T- Killer cellகள் வந்த வேலையை விட்டு விட்டு, நன்றாக இருக்கும் நுரையீரல் செல்களை அழியச் சொல்லி தகவல் தரும். இதனால் நுரையீரல் பெரும் பாதிப்புக்கு உள்ளாகி, அடுத்ததாக பாக்டீரியா தாக்குதல், நிமோனியா உள்ளிட்ட தோற்று நோய்களுக்கு ஆளாக நேரிடும். இந்த இடத்தில் தான் மரணங்கள் நிகழ்கின்றன.

இப்படி உடலின் எதிர்ப்பு சக்தியையே நமது உடலுக்கு எதிராக திருப்பி விடுவதில் தான் கொரோனா வைரசின் முழு சக்தியும் அடங்கியுள்ளது. வைரசின் உருவத்தை வைத்து அடையாளம காணும் B- cellகள் கூட கொரோனாவிடம் இதுவரை எளிதில் வெற்றியை ஈட்டவில்லை. இந்த வைரஸ்கள் அனுப்பும் வேதியல் தகவல்கள் (Cytokines) எல்லா நேரமும் ஒரே மாதிரியாக இல்லை. அவை லட்சக்கணக்கான வகைகளில் மாறிக் கொண்டே இருப்பதால் T-killer cells, B cells ஆகியவற்றால் இவற்றை சரியாக அடையாளம் காண முடியவில்லை. இது தான் இந்த வைரசுக்கு எதிராக மருந்தோ தடுப்பு ஊசியோ தயாரிப்பதில் பெரும் சிக்கலை ஏற்படுத்தி வருகிபது.

நாம் உண்ணும் அல்லது ஊசி மூலம் போட்டுக் கொள்ளும் மருந்துகள் உடலுக்குள் சென்றவுடன் வேதியியல் தகவல்களாக மாறித்தான் நோயை ஏற்படுத்தும் கிருமிகளோடு நேரடியாக மோதுகின்றன அல்லது உடலின் Immune system- உடன் பேசி, வேண்டிய எதிர்ப்பு மருந்தை உடலையே தயாரிக்க வைக்கின்றன.

ஆனால், கொரோனா நமது உடல் எதிர்ப்பு சக்தி சிஸ்டத்தையே தனது கட்டுப்பாட்டுக்குள் கொண்டு சென்றுவிடுவது தான் இந்த வைரசுக்கு எதிராக எந்த மருந்தை வைத்து போராடுவது என்ற குழப்பத்தில் மருத்துவ உலகை ஆழ்த்தியுள்ளது.

கொரோனா வைரஸ்களின் கெமிக்கல் தாக்குதல்களால் குழம்பிப்போன T-killer cells, B cells-களும் ஏற்கனவே கொரோனா பாதித்த நுரையீரல்களை மேலும் பாதித்து உலகெங்கும் உயிரிழப்புகளை ஏற்படுத்தி வருகின்றன. ஆனால், ஏற்கனவே நுரையீரல் பிரச்சனை, நோய் எதிர்ப்பு சக்தியில் பிரச்சனை உள்ளவர்களில் தான் இந்த உயிரிழப்புகள் அதிகமாக ஏற்படுகிறது.

நல்ல உடல் நிலையில் உள்ளவர்களுக்கு பிரச்சனை குறைவாகவே உள்ளது. உடலில் கொரோனா வைரஸ் ஏற்படுத்தும் பெரும் குழப்பத்துக்கிடையிலும் பெரும்பாலான நேரங்களில் நமது உடல் எதிர்ப்பு சக்தி சிஸ்டம் கொரோனா வைரஸை தோற்கடித்துவிடுகிறது.

If there is no medicine for corona,  how do corona affected people get cured in the hospital?
Hospitals can give treatment only for the symptoms but it is your body immune system that has to shed off this virus and help you recover. In severe cases, during difficulty in breathing, oxygen is provided or  the affected get the assistance of ventilators. But hospitals well maintained also help to stop the spreading of disease by means of isolating the patient. But many people are still afraid of going to hospitals being afraid of death.

Can a doctor really cure the disease?
Dr. Richard Martinello, infectious diseases specialist and Medical Director of Infection Prevention at Yale New Haven Health, has revealed that still we need to know how the virus is transmitted between people and how it develops in the body. Thus it remains a mysterious disease to doctors and scientists.  According to him,  it is still not understood when the sick shed off the virus and how the air surrounding them is contaminated. Until we get answers for these questions,  it is difficult to fight against this monster corona.

When will the vaccine be ready for use? Or is it already ready with a country that is going to dominate the world?
In March, 2020, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has announced the first testing of an experimental vaccine called mRNA-1273 that was developed by NIAID scientists and their collaborators at the biotechnology company Moderna, Inc. But it will take at least one year to make this vaccine available for use. Until then,  how will doctors encounter corona? Why don’t nations join together and form a team of great scientists and doctors to invent vaccine even after three months to this deadly virus?  Every country has its own ancient medicinal books and treatments and why should we be afraid of this virus?

Who is the source/ origin of this disease?
 Coronaviruses refer to a large family of viruses that can cause illnesses. The first known severe illness from a coronavirus emerged with the 2003 Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) epidemic in China. A second outbreak was in 2012 in Saudi Arabia with the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS). On December 31st, 2019, China informed the outbreak of a novel coronavirus resulting in severe illness,  then named SARS-CoV-2. As on today,  20th March, 2020, just in 80 days, it has swallowed 10,447 lives worldwide and 2,54,807 remain infected . Who is first person from whom it has spread to 2,54, 807 people till now?

One source: China’s first Covid-19 case known as “patient zero” is a person from Hubei province aged 55 and it dates back to November 17th, 2019 as reported by Josephine Ma in South China Morning Post that also says  “the first nine cases to be reported in November – four men and five women – none has been confirmed as being “patient zero”. They were all aged between 39 and 79, but it is unknown how many were residents of Wuhan, the capital of Hubei and the epicentre of the outbreak.”
Another source: According to the World Health Organisation’s website, the first confirmed Covid-19 case in China was on December 8.

Another source :
 Dr Ai Fen, the first known whistle-blower, told People magazine in an interview that was later censored, that tests showed that a patient at Wuhan Central Hospital was diagnosed on December 16 as having contracted an unknown coronavirus.

Yet another source: A report published in medical journal The Lancet by Chinese doctors from Jinyintan Hospital in Wuhan, which treated some of the earliest patients, put the date of the first known infection at December 1.
Thus the origin of covid19 remains mysterious. Scientists and doctors are greatly in need of something authentic to proceed further. Coronavirus is generally thought to have spread from a bat in the seafood market in China to humans but now it’s spreading without animal intermediary.

How many people are “really” affected?
The infected cases reported all over the world are only the cases who were tested and confirmed.  What about the cases who are hiding, unidentified,  still not tested or are not coming forward for testing?  For instance,  in India, the first case was reported on 30th January,  2020, a student who had returned from Wuhan University to Kerala. On 2nd March, a 24-years-old engineer in Hyderabad with travel history with United Arabs Emirates along with 88people in contact with him including fellow travelers in the bus from Bangalore were tracked down by the government and kept under watch.  We don’t know to how many people he alone spread unknowingly. Officials stated that 36 people in contact with him had developed coronavirus symptoms.  Similarly on 7th March, an American tourist tested positive in Bhutan was found to have visited several places in India before leaving the country. Another problem with corona virus is that some people first tested negative and discharged have developed symptoms after mingling with people. The real number is always going to be unknown to all.( As on now,  India has reported 223 confirmed cases and 5 deaths.)

How does Sylvia Browne know this virus 12years before?
There is said to be a reference to this disease in the book “End of Days” by Sylvia Browne and Lindsay Harrison published 12 years before in 2008,  though she did not use the word coronavirus:
“In around 2020 a severe pneumonia-like illness will spread throughout the globe, attacking the lungs and the bronchial tubes and resisting all known treatments. Almost more baffling than the illness itself will be the fact that it will suddenly vanish as quickly as it arrived, attack again ten years later, and then disappear completely,”
How she predicted is still mysterious but thank God,  if it suddenly vanishes as she told,  it’s good for all. (The author died in 2013)

Did Dean Koontz predict this in 1981?
A 1981 novel “The Eyes of Darkness “ by Dean Koontz talks about this virus and raises the doubt whether the virus named as Wuhan-400 is a biological weapon by the Chinese developed in the lab in Wuhan. See the passage in the book in chapter 36,
“It was around then that a Chinese scientist named Li Chen defected to the United States, carrying a diskette record of China's most important and dangerous: new biological weapon in a decade. They call the stuff 'Wuhan-400' because it was developed at their RDNA labs outside of the city of Wuhan, and it was the four-hundredth viable strain of man-made microorganisms created at that research center.
"Wuhan-400 is a perfect weapon. It afflicts only human beings. No other living creature can carry it. And like syphilis, Wuhan-400 can't survive outside a living human body for
longer than a minute, which means it can't permanently contaminate objects or entire places the way anthrax and other virulent microorganisms can. And when the host expires, the Wuhan-400 within him perishes a short while later, as soon as the temperature of the corpse drops below eighty-six degrees
Fahrenheit. Do you see the advantage of all this?"
Tina was too busy with Danny to think about what Carl Dombey had said, but Elliot knew what the scientist meant. "If I understand you, the Chinese could use Wuhan-400 to wipe out a city or a country, and then there wouldn't be any need for them to conduct a tricky and expensive decontamination before they moved in and took over the conquered territory."
"Exactly," Dombey said. "And Wuhan-400 has other, equally important advantages over most biological agents. For one thing, you can become an infectious carrier only four hours after coming into contact with the virus. That's an incredibly short incubation period. Once infected, no one lives more than twenty-four hours. Most die in twelve. It's worse than the Ebola virus in Africa—infinitely worse. Wuhan-400's kill-rate is one hundred percent. No one is supposed to survive.”

But it is just a thriller novel if you read for time pass, since the virus mentioned here may not refer to coronavirus that doesn’t infect a person and kill in 24 hours as said here.

Did Nostradamus predict this disaster to Italy?
Nostradamus is said to have predicted about this corona infection, especially the one in Italy in his book “Les Propheties” in 1555, in Century V, quatrain 63:
“From the vain enterprise honour and undue complaint,
Boats tossed about among the Latins, cold, hunger, waves
Not far from the Tiber the land staine with blood,
And diverse plagues will be upon mankind."

The Tiber mentored here is the third longest river in Italy and Nostradamus used to refer to any disease mostly in the name of plague.  At present,  European countries, especially Italy is worst -hit by this virus that alone carries resemblance and nothing else.

Coronavirus is going to be the biggest threat to the global economy – causing roller-coaster share market, slow down in manufacturing industry,  decline in oil prices,  peak in unemployment rates and many more unexpected disasters. It’s safe to stay away from the markets since the impact coronavirus is going to inflict upon world economy is mysterious  uncertain and unpredictable.

What will be the climax of this global tragedy? When will corona completely disappear from the world?Is it just a battle against a disastrous virus or Third World War started by any Nation?  How did China quickly recover from the clutches of this monster while the rest of the world is restlessly fighting against it?
